MS Thesis Student
From Jhapa to biotechnology labs, Prasodhan Niraula has developed his career as a scientist-entrepreneur working in agricultural innovation. His path began with the Young Scientist Award at the Young Scientist Summit 2016 (YSS, Kathmandu). After completing his M.Tech in Biotechnology from Kathmandu University (2017) with support from TWAS-funded research at Research Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology (RIBB), he expanded his expertise at NARTC, Kirtipur (2018-2020), working with Ayurveda Medicine and Plant Tissue Culture technology. This experience led to the establishment of Apex Biotech and Agroforestry Research Center, where as CEO he focuses on virus-free potato seed production. His work in this field was recognized with the 2022 Young Scientist Award from the Ministry of Social Development, Koshi Province's.
Currently he is pursuing PhD at Kathmandu University on Microtuber production of Solanum tuberosum. With all his research activities, he has earned five published research papers to his name, he combines academic research with practical applications in agriculture. Recently, in May 2025, he received the Creative Young Entrepreneur (CYE) title from Nepal Jaycees, where he got a chance to pitch his business in Mongolia.
Beyond his research, Prasodhan works directly with farming communities to implement improved cultivation techniques, applying scientific knowledge to enhance agricultural productivity in Nepal.
