Established in 2025, The Data Science Lab at RIBB is a dynamic interdisciplinary research team working at the intersection of biology and information technology. Currently, our research spans various domains of biotechnology, microbiology, food science, and medicine.
High throughput biotechnologies are driving the pace of biological discovery in an unprecedented manner, and in the process, generating large volumes of scientific data. In today’s data-driven world, the ability to extract meaningful insights from this deluge of information is critical. Data science plays a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable knowledge, enabling researchers to uncover patterns, identify biomarkers, infer biological mechanisms, develop new hypothesis, predict new biology, and develop innovative biotechnological products and therapeutics.
Our Data Science Lab is equipped with a state-of-the-art computing environment, including an advanced Linux system capable of handling high-throughput data such as Next Generating Sequencing (NGS), Mass Spectrometry, and Microscopy. We actively drive and participate in collaborative research projects in integrative high throughput biology. Our highly skilled multidisciplinary team with expertise in bioinformatics, genomics, statistics, and computer science allows us to effectively analyze diverse multi-omics data for innovative biological discovery addressing both local and global challenges.
