Ms. Suvechhya Bastola is a Researcher and heads the Public Bioscience Learning Center at RIBB. Apart from her research engagements, she is also involved in management of Bioscience learning center, supported by Wellcome Trust Centre for Cell Biology (WTCCB), University of Edinburgh, UK. This center is primarily working on the project “Engage Nepal with Science”,with the purpose of spreading the culture of engaging the public with scientific research and promoting practical knowledge in schools.
Prior to this, she was a research assistant at the Department of Biotechnology, Teesside University, UK, where she was involved in the research project “Biodegradation of Wool”. Following her B.Tech in Biotechnology from Kathmandu University, Nepal, she continued her academic career as Masters in Biotechnology from Teesside University, UK. Her research work for the masters, “Biological reduction of iron to the elemental state from ochre deposits of Skelton Beck in Northeast England” was published in Frontiers.
