DESCRIPTION:Dr. Maharjan\, a scientist who is using alternatives to animal models in biomedical research was highlighted by NEAVS. Her work focuses on organs-on-chips and 3-D tissue models as alternatives to use of animal models in biomedical research. \nIn 2016 she was awarded the NEAVS/AFAAR Fellowship Grant and again in 2017\, she was fortunate enough to receive funding for the second year.\nCongratulations and Happy International Women Day!!
