Dr. Maharjan heads Department of Industrial Microbiology at Research Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology (RIBB). She received her Master degree (2003) in organic chemistry from Tribhuvan University (Nepal) and Ph.D. (2011) in Biochemistry from Sun Moon University, Korea. She has gained knowledge in molecular biology, genetic engineering, protein engineering and immunology. She has significant research experience in vaccine delivery in mouse models using polymeric carriers. Her current research is focused on molecular biology and immunology to design and develop vaccine/vaccine adjuvants based on subunit antigens such as proteins, peptides and nucleic acids
• Genetic and metabolic engineering of bacteria.
• Design and development of gene and vaccine delivery carriers.
