Research Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology (RIBB) is a non-political, non-governmental and community service oriented non-profit making institute established in 2011. The birth of this institute took from a group of professors, scientists, researchers and people involved in academic sectors to work together in the field of Non-timber forest products (NTFPs). These NTFPs includes organisms such as bacteria, fungi, mosses, lichens, ferns, higher plants, wildlife and their products. Therefore, we focused our research activities in followings four areas: Medicinal Plant Research, Pharmaceutical Research, Food Science Research and Strain Culture Center. Besides these four areas we also focus on how the local community of Nepal will be benefited by our research based product development projects.

The 1st International Conference on Bioscience and Biotechnology (ICBB) was organized in Yellow Pagoda Hotel Kathmandu, Nepal from February 4 to 6, 2016 by RIBB, TWAS and AFOB. This conference brought together team of academician, scientists, educators, researchers, teachers and students within Nepal and around the world who are engaged in the field of bioscience and biotechnology.
